Meet the Executive Team

Shaben & Associates was founded by Mike Shaffer in 1997. As CEO, Mike brings over 28 years of significant industry experience managing community associations. Mike has an extensive background in commercial lawn care, golf course care, and construction management. Mike holds a CAM license, Real Estate Salesperson license, and Real Estate Broker license from the Georgia Real Estate Commission. His unparalleled leadership and distinct oversight ensure all aspects of management and quality of service are not only met, but exceeded for each client.

Justin boasts 18 years of experience in real estate disciplines including association management, commercial and residential sales, leasing, real estate appraisals, and property management. His prior work experience includes land acquisition for DR Horton, Real Estate Specialist for Gwinnett County Government, Community Sales Manager for Bowen Family Homes, and an Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM2) for the United States Navy. He obtained a BBA in general business from the University of Georgia – Terry College of Business and a master’s degree in business administration from Shorter University. Justin also holds an Associate Brokers License from the Georgia Real Estate Commission. With a leading role at Shaben & Associates, he plays a pivotal part in the company’s personnel management, planning, and policy development.

Before joining Shaben & Associates, Tammy spent 30 years gaining thorough experience in the accounting field. She served as an accountant for a manufacturing company in Buford, Assistant Controller of a large industrial distributor of pipe flanges, and a Senior Accountant at Theragenics. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a BBA degree in accounting and currently helps lead the company through all aspects of financial accounting. .

Maureen brings 20 years of experience to the Shaben & Associates team. Her previous role in Community Association Management consisted of extensive on-site management, administrative development and support, communications, and customer service. Maureen originally started her career in the education field, but presently holds a Community Association Management license with a CMCA certification and effectively spearheads all areas of customer relations.

Brandie has 21 years of combined experience in real estate and property management. Her past titles impressively include Director of Training & Regional Manager of LA Weight Loss Centers, a Real Estate Agent for KHL Investments, LLC, and Community Manager for Julian LeCraw & Company where she managed a luxury high rise. She now leads the training and development program offered through Shaben & Associates for all newly hired community managers.
